Reaching

Driving down Babylon Road in southern Utah, I came across this view:
It was late afternoon and the shadows were deep and long, and each shape was pronounced. What first caught my attention was the formations. The curve or the rock, the way the short pinnacles reached toward the sky, it just had such an organic nature to it. If you click on the image to see it larger, you'll also see that there is banding near the top edge of the pinnacles-- white sandstone stripes nearly at the tips of the orange.
The colors were also really lovely that time of day. I love red rock against blue sky. I don't think I'll ever get tired of it.
